Royal Caribbean Falmouth (Jamaica) released port


Royal Caribbean has been working for three years with the Port Authority of Jamaica to create the new port, which is located on the north coast and is designed to receive two deep draft vessels simultaneously. Meets the operational requirements of the Oasis of the Seas and part of your journey through the western Caribbean in March.

However, the first ship to visit the port will be the Navigator of the Seas on Jan. 7, the Oasis and its new sister ship Allure of the Seas will begin to make two calls per week from March.

The project was designed by Idea Group of Orlando to reflect the historic character of Falmouth, founded by Thomas Reid in 1769. This was the first port of Jamaica and many slaves were transported from Falmouth to the New World. For a time he was also the leading port in export of sugar and rum. Eventually, port activity moved to Port Royal in Kingston and Falmouth Bay gradually lost quality.

The port of Falmouth will begin to revitalize the people whose port facilities and attractions were designed in the Georgian style.

Many local workers involved in the project, and is expected to revitalize the community with the arrival of the cruise. Tourists arriving in Falmouth can choose between tours Ocho Rios and Montego Bay, as the new port is equidistant from both towns.
